10 Billion $ Wind Energy Investment by Texas, Pvt Partners

The state of Texas will partner with private-sector parties to invest more than $10 billion in new wind energy infrastructure.

The wind energy initiative will diversify the state's energy production, clean up the air and help Texas surpass its renewable energy goals.

For every 1,000 megawatts generated by new wind sources, Texas will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6 million tons over the next 20 years.

he Texas Energy Council issued a report in December 2004 stating that 10 percent of the state's power needs come from renewable sources.
